Since they first appeared in the 1989 hit, Back To The Future II, Marty McFly's futuristic, self-lacing running shoes have become a bit of an obsession to sneaker fans, enough that shoemaker Nike has been inundated with mail asking them to work on making them a reality. Well, the year is now 2011 and a limited run of the fiction-turned reality runners are now on sale. There are, naturally, a few twists.

First is that the shoes will only be offered as a limited run. There are just 1,500 pairs of the "Nike MAG" available for bid on eBay, divided into 150 pairs each day for ten days, with the proceeds set to go towards The Michael J. Fox Founddation for Parkinson Research. Second, although the shoes look just as they do in the movie, and even light up for fours hours after you charge them, but missing will be the "power lacing", technology that let's the shoes lace themselves. Is Nike still working on that? In their promo clip featuring Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown, they joke it'll arrive in 2015.

Here's the promo videos featuring Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Bill Hader, and Kevin Durant.
